Employment opportunity - working for Disability Powys
We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in our request to Powys County Council to match fund a successful Lloyds TSB application to employ a Disability Network Facilitator & County Access Officer for 10 hours per week. This post is on a 2 year fixed term contract with continuation of employment subject to funding - NJC Pt 27 (Sc6), rising to Pt 28 (Sc6) in year two - commencing salary is £6,356 per annum: pro rata of £22,246). The post can be home based or based in the Disability Powys office.
The Disability Network Facilitator & County Access Officer will liase with, and provide appropriate information and support to, the existing disability groups and impairment specific groups in Powys, and develop and facilitate appropriate new Disability Fora in areas of Powys that do not have existing groups.
The Officer will also liase with Statutory and Voluntary Sector Agencies to ensure that the views of disabled people in Powys are represented in appropriate strategic and policy developments. The Disability Network Facilitator & County Access Officer will also carry out Access Audits throughout the County (appropriate training will be provided) and assist the Chief Officer and other staff in carrying out the aims and objectives and the continued development of the organisation.
